Scope & Knowledge:
Participates with other functional senior managers to translate strategic plans and goals for Corporate Treasury into tactical plans and objectives for setting priorities. Makes final decisions on administrative and operational matters and ensures operations objectives are effectively achieved. Provides input into strategy setting and policy development impacting organization-wide risk management and control issues. Responsibility for the liquidity operation, short-term financing, credit facilities with related reporting and covenant compliance, risk management, and oversight of cash management. Responsible for monitoring debt and financial obligations. The incumbent will also be responsible for:
- managing and mentoring junior staff, setting goals and development plans and measuring performance.
- formulating and instituting operational and financial controls, policies and procedures. Maintaining a best practices environment and publishing and continually evolving operational metrics and dashboards
- Managerial oversight and governance of the operational control structure around cash and liquidity operations and bank system deployments
Job Complexity
Manages a team that has a high impact on corporate operations requiring funding of their activities. Monitors and optimizes liquidity, cash management system company-wide, makes improvements on all global accounts and, helps minimize required cash on hand and cost of banking. Advices business units, management and relevant third parties and participates in organization-wide development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and people. Treasury is involved in many corporate projects/initiatives that require bank arrangements and cash/security movements. Treasury's role is to provide subject matter expertise and recommend infrastructures, process flows, controls and requirements to support the processing of cash and security transactions and related activities.
Ensures budgets and schedules meet the organization's requirements. Exercises judgment in determining the methods, techniques and approaches for obtaining results. Implements policies and procedures for functions managed and participates with other areas in developing and establishing company-wide policies and procedures. Responsible for month-end close and reporting for treasury related activities. Oversees working capital lines including lines of credit.
Interaction
Develops and maintains relationships with senior management, internal users of funds, internal recipients of funds, outsourcing vendors and the financial industry. Assists Senior Management in evaluating and managing the company's liquidity and short-term financing requirements. Key interface with bankers and creditors. Works with senior and executive management to oversee and negotiate terms of credit facility renewals and future capital issuances.
Oversight/Freedom To Act
Manages the overall activities of the functional area. Overall control of budgeting, staffing, planning and managing expense priorities. Recommends and implements changes to methods of performing work. Ensures that adequate staff and other resources are trained, available and assigned to meet operating objectives. Provides input to policy development to manage risk and exposure for the company. Conducts interviews. Responsible for hiring and termination decisions. Completes performance appraisals and development plans for direct reports during the annual and interim performance evaluation process. Director positions with no direct reports work independently to determine methods and procedures on unique or special assignments requiring specialized expertise and insight to direct outcomes. Erroneous decisions will have a material impact on the overall success of the organization's operations which may result in economic loss, substantial fines and regulatory investigation. Periodically reviews and assesses overall performance, staffing and development needs of the group.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years experience in corporate finance, with a minimum of 5 years in Treasury Services on a corporate level, including proven track record managing projects of a complex nature. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance required. MBA preferred. CPA or CTP certificate preferred. Experience working in a financial services environment, with cash management, corporate liquidity, short-term borrowing and foreign exchange required.
